U.S. Postal Service Informed Delivery Tops 22 Million Users

January 28, 2020

The U.S. Postal Service Informed Delivery program continues to grow and currently has over 22 million registered users.

Informed Delivery provides eligible residential consumers with a digital preview of their household’s mail.  According to the USPS, the 2019 Informed Delivery promotion consisted of 478 participants who prepared over 2.6 million viewable images of mailpieces.  Over 60% of the participants who completed a follow-up survey about the 2019 promotion mentioned that they will continue to use interactive campaigns outside the promotion period.

The USPS will once again be offering a discount of 2-percent for qualifying Informed Delivery interactive campaigns in 2020.  Registration begins July 15th and continues through November 30th.  The promotion dates are September 1st through November 30th.

As many mailers continued to use the program and prepare for the upcoming promotion, the USPS has started to offer detailed statistical data that can be extremely valuable to any marketing effort.  This data provides the number of Registered Households, Registered Users and the number of Email-Enabled Users by USPS Area, District and ZIP-Code.  The below chart illustrates the available data.  Click the image to download an Excel file:
